  • APD launches OCB valve
We are delighted to announce that the Open Circuit Bailout Mouthpiece, the OCB, is now available. This highly sought after product will enable the diver to bail out to open circuit with one movement without removing the mouthpiece from their mouth, very easy in a stressful situation and will provide peace of mind for many divers. The custom designed mouthpiece is extremely compact and lightweight, weighing in at only 350g in air but is neutrally buoyant in the water. It features new lever operated switching between open circuit and closed circuit making it very easy to use and of course it has undergone the extensive third party testing required for CE approval. It is rated to EN14143, the rebreather standard, EN13949, the nitrox standard and EN250, the regulator standard and in fact exceeds the requirements for this standard. The OCB can also be used in fast flowing water for instance when scootering. Ambient Pressure Diving?s patented dual valve technology allows gas to be fed from the left or right facilitating individual configuration and is ready for use with high oxygen percentage gasses. Manufactured to a very high standard in our specialist facility it can be fitted to existing units and will be optional on the purchase of a new unit. As with all our products full spares and back up are available. The OCB will be available as standard with the convoluted hoses allowing the diver to easily interchange the mouthpiece that is connected to their Inspiration or Evolution by simply disconnecting at the T-pieces. However it will also be available without the convoluted hoses if required. It will be supplied as standard with a 1.5 metre low pressure hose using our reusable LP fittings which allow you to shorten the hose as required.

The Gurteltauchgerat is a single oxygenbottle on the back with scrubber system. The DM 20 has a dual oxygen cylinder worn on the back with scrubber, and finally the DM40 was one of the first nitrox semiclosed injector based rebreathers on the market. Later I will publish an additional manual about this gret set!

Dover Castle was the basis for operation Dynamo, a great story! On this page you find some history and info about the wrecks we dived and pictures from the trip. Please enjoy!

  • Michael Hearn shows his new Cameleon adaptive system.
I'll give a brief out line of our new prototype, hopefully it will be of interest .we didn't want to design a whole new rebreather , every one has there own way of setting up their RB, we wanted to build the heart of the system ,the scrubber and electronics allowing divers to set up the rest as they want. I teamed up with a good friend of mine Pascal and we put our heads together and came up with the Camelion. an integrated aluminium scrubber and electronics pod with integrated stand and lifting handle. primarily aimed at classic Inspiration owners who can use all the other parts like lungs wings harness etc but allowing them to place there own electronics ,ie shearwater, hammerhead etc setting the system up to suit them. the electronic pod holds up to 5 cells ,solenoids, 2 or more can be placed here taking into account future upgrades of controllers. there are 2 oxygen feeds allowing the user to set up with full electronic control or a CMF system or both side by side ,which seems to becoming more popular. there are 3 ports to connect computer ,hud, and a backup display. The scrubber is still undergoing design changes ,in the prototype it is a radial holding over 2.6 kg of scrubber material but still undergoing testing to see which design is more efficient. On the prototype the back plate tank holders and parts of the base are made from titanium. We will be showing this in London, but want to point out that this is a prototype and is not on the market. We would like to see if there is a place for something new and we think different.
